Fall referrals for evaluation for Hanover County Public Schools gifted education will be accepted between September 16 and October 15 for middle school students. Elementary referrals will occur in January as well as an additional middle school referral window. In order for a student to be considered for the gifted program, they must first be referred for evaluation. A referral can be initiated by:
- a parent
- a teacher
- a peer
- a community member
- by the student
Students identified as gifted learners in elementary school in Hanover County do not need to be re-screened for middle school. To refer your middle school child, please complete a gifted referral in the PowerSchool parent portal.
